All of our events were up in participation and attendance and to quote Mayor Connelly at the opening ceremony, "The festival has moved from an event to an institution."  Thank you again to everyone who had a hand in making it so successful.  We have met and are beginning to plan the '08 festival.  Please be thinking about what you can do to make it better and forward your thoughts to David or myself. 

 

The Pig Roast is here.  Let me encourage you to come join us on October 13th for a great afternoon of fun.  We will have delicious food, great music by the Freedom Riders Band, lots of games for the kids, and great prizes for everyone.  Thank you Stephanie Owens and Committee for your hard work.

 

The theme for this years Christmas Parade is “The Wonders of Christmas”.  Please let Danny Miller know as soon as possible what your entry will be or how you can help him continue this great event.  Thank you Danny for chairing this event from year to year.

 

It is nomination time again for the Board of Directors.  If you know someone who is willing to serve, please let us know.  We need folks who are willing to work to make Berea even better than it already is!

Spoonbread Festival: A Huge Success

 

THANK YOU!!! doesn't seem adequate to convey the way I feel about all that was done before, during, and since the Spoonbread Festival.  In case you haven't heard, the festival  was a huge success.  We had approximately 15 thousand people attend the festival. The balloon glow had a very large crowd on Friday evening and several businesses on College Square and Old Town reported strong sales throughout  the weekend.
