Join the Fun in June!
With June upon us, everyone is extremely busy. School is out and summer time has begun. The Chamber has been extremely busy as well. With our annual membership drive in full swing and the Spoonbread Festival looming around the corner there is work to be done. We will also be conducting a new member orientation session this month. I would like to encourage all new members to try and attend this class, if at all possible. It will be very informative.

I am extremely proud to say that we have filled all of our vacancies both on the executive committee and the board. Brad Park has graciously agreed to take the position as vice president on our executive committee and will be an asset to the Chamber. We also have some new committee chairs in place and all of our committees have been extremely busy in planning for the remainder of the year. If anyone would like to serve on a committee, please contact the Chamber office. I would also like to encourage our Chamber members to remind non-members of our membership drive that is currently winding down. They can take advantage of the discounted savings for new members during the drive. The Chamber would be incapable of operating without our members so it is imperative that we continuously strive to increase our membership.
Our building committee has had some additional follow up meetings concerning the option of moving into the Broadway building that was purchased by the city last year. The move should take place within the next 30 days. We still have a few details to work out with the city but barring some unforeseen circumstance the move will go on as scheduled. Hopefully, by joining forces with the city of Berea and also Berea Tourism we will be able to work together for a better Berea. We as a Board also feel that the reduced operating costs will help us to add to our capital building fund so that in the near future the Chamber can purchase a building. I would like to thank the building committee for their time and effort on this project. I also want to thank all of our members for their support. I look forward to working with our members and businesses throughout the remainder of the year.
